A busy day where I saw lots of people, and traveled to several cities including Cumming, Gainesville, Duluth, and Flowery Branch. A big thank you to my friend Shannon for letting my dogs out midday to go to the bathroom. That helped me stay out on my day trip a lot longer.
To begin the day I went to the family lake house in Cumming, GA to visit my mom and Doug. While there I took several random photos from the covered porch.
The ancient fan that has been rusted out for many years, and is a relic from the former lake house cabin.
I believe that the "Arctic Aire" company is no longer in business. I couldn't find any current information about them online, and I am guessing that this fan dates back to the 1950's.
Japanese lanterns that don't emit light.

From the lake house I drove to Gainesville to visit Ron Grant for his 71st birthday. This is his cat, Rusty, perched inside the house overlooking the front yard. From Ron's house we drove to Pho Dai Loi #3 for Vietnamese pho in a 40 minute drive to Duluth, GA. After lunch we went to a pawn shop where Ron had been eyeing a good-condition Nikon D7000 camera with the kit lens and an excellent-condition Nikon camera bag. We looked at it and bought it.
Once we arrived back at Ron's house we played with the cameras. He will need a decent flash and a card reader, but we should at least be able to find the latter at Free IT Athens for a nominal price.
Oh, and of course he'll need a better camera strap. The stock D7000 strap is ok, but there are much more comfortable ones available. I waited several years before I bough my aftermarket strap for my D7200, and I was really glad that I did.

After leaving Ron's house I ventured to my friend Lavinia's house in Flowery branch to pick up some lovely lemon bars. I was hoping to visit with Lavi, but she was at the doctor's office, so I simply picked up the food and left. Delicious lemon bars, and I am looking forward to seeing her soon and wishing her a speedy recovery.
