On this trip we went to Sarah's Creek per the usual, and we obtained permission from the ranger at Camp Rainey Mountain to enter the camp.

After I caffeinated up at the Racetrac in Clayton we drove to CRM, but without cell phone coverage we were not able to obtain permission to enter the camp, so we drove into town for cell coverage to obtain the permission, then we went to Sarah's Creek, then we ended the day at CRM.

The original trip to CRM.  11:30AM

Ducks - thanks to Haocheng and Joe

27° incline.  I am continuing to learn the handling of the Wrangler.

Drone shot next to the bathrooms.  What a fantastic photo op.

Empty campsite where we visited for an hour.  On a Wednesday afternoon, the campsites are mostly vacant.

The creek adjacent to the campsite.

I opened the hood of the Wrangler because I was bored, and I noticed that the hood switch on the right is not popping up on it's own.  I should look into this.

Snacks and chilling at the campsite.

Another drone shot of a bathroom.  The smell was pretty bad - even from a short distance.

The campsite location looking on the horizon from several hundred feet in the air.

It's pretty impressive... No advanced photography skills required.

Another incline.  I believe 30° is one of the steepest inclines I have encountered.

Camp Rainey Mountain waterfront.

CRM Amphitheater

CRM Admin Building

CRM Lake Toccoa

The field and first aid Merit Badge building adjacent to the campsites used by Gainesville's Troops 26 and 16 in the late 1990's

CRM from the air.  These shots really give a clear perspective of the layout

Administration Building

Haocheng's food.  Today she made gyro wraps, and this time we had all of the ingredients.  We eat well on our offroading trips.

The drone and ham radio.

Administration building

Ballard Cabin.  This thing was just as run down in the 1990's as it is now.  I've not seen it used for anything, but it does have an excellent view of Lake Toccoa.

Waterfront

Handicraft Lodge.  Back in the 1990's the Basketry, Leatherwork, and Woodwork merit badges were instructed here..

The Order of the Arrow Mowogo building.  This is the former location of the Trading Post and the Snack Shack.  I noticed that this building is air conditioned.  What a nice amenity.  I bet that comes in handy during the heat of the summer.

Administration Building just before departing for Athens.  This wan a fun-filled Wednesday.
