• Date: Mid-April through Mid-June 2023

These photos, shot from April 10, 2023 through June 6, 2023 are mostly individual snaps that don't fit into their own galleries.

On my trip to Central Florida on April 10, 2023.

Jim Trapani's home broadcast tower.  The home of WEFA-LP Ocala.

Crystal River Nature Preserve entrance.  I jogged this 7-mile loop twice, and it was a lot of fun with the FM headset.

This sign is accurate.

Finished with the jog.

The FM radio / Bluetooth speaker that Jeff Dantre gave me.

By coincidence I saw an old friend from Gainesville, GA - Tommy Jacob and his daughter.  We were both scuba diving at Rainbow River in Dunnellon, FL.

Chuck Franklin and I ziplined at The Canyons in Ocala, Florida.  Sunday, April 16, 2023

On April 18 Mabel and I are working at home in Athens, GA.

I found some layer 2 switches at Free IT Athens, and I am practicing with VLANs.  A really neat aspect of my home network.

Inside Pira.cz P132 RDS Encoder for WPLP-LP.  There was a defective LED, and the manufacturer said that he would send me another one.  I received a tracking number, but as of 6/12/2023 I have not received the part.  April 21, 2023.

The stereo in my living room - complete with an old 1st-generation iPad to play lossless music.  April 22, 2023.

Haocheng and I are at one of the parks at UGA.  She is walking around the lake and I am talking with her on amateur radio from a dock.  April 22, 2023.

A turtle in the water next to the dock in the previous photo.

I love working from Sandy Creek Park in Athens.  There is a pavilion with power, Wi-Fi, and a great view, and there are other places that may not have all those amenities but that have excellent views.

At the Short-Term rental I have a computer and Uni-Fi wireless access point.  It's a Wi-Fi 6-capable device that works well.

I used a few zip ties to clean up the installation of the modem, router, and computer.  The setup works well.

On Thursday, May 11, 2023 I found the old Billy Joel LP that I essentially inherited from my buddy Pablo.  It's a double album, but all we have is one loose record with no cover.

Dinner on May 12 made by Haocheng.

During the brief time I had a car wash membership with my Jeep Wrangler, the car wash bent the lights on the top.  This was no real problem since they are designed to do this.

On Monday, May 15, 2023 I drove the 2006 Honda CR-V to the car wash.  I thought I was going to be selling this vehicle, but as of 6/12/2023 I still own it and don't have any plans to sell it.

Later on May 15 I helped Jeff Dantre lower his amateur radio mast using the Jeep Wrangler's wench.

On May 22 I shot a photo of the new Motorola radios I bought at the 2023 Dayton, Ohio Hamvention.

Before the Dayton Hamvention I only owned one drop-in charger for my Kenwood TH-K2's, but I found one in a $1 bin.  This was an excellent find for me.

The Thibadeau Lake House in Cumming, Georgia.

Brian and Rio at the Lake House.

Peanut Butter and Apples at the Lake House thanks to Haocheng.

On Saturday, May 27 Haocheng and I stopped by the Pendergrass Flea Market for lunch on the way back from the Lake House.  While she was waiting for the food I found an old Eiki compact cassette recorder just like the ones from high school.  These are ruggedly designed, but probably not worth $50.

Lunch made by Haocheng on May 28, 2023

After a renter abandoned one of my rental houses in Gainesville, GA, I enlisted the assistance of my friend Bob Thompson to help me drill the lock.

The ground pad that Chuck Franklin gave me.  It was very much appreciated on my backpacking trip in Late-May 2023.

Note to self.  I am getting fat and I need to stop this trajectory.  June 2, 2023

The old Kemp's store in Gainesville - which is now a Hispanic used appliance store called C&S.  I bought a range and a refrigerator for one of the Gainesville rental houses.

The spare Nicom NT-1000 1,000-Watt FM transmitter that I salvaged the previous year.  I was looking at selling it, but that deal did not materialize.

The Jeep Wrangler after going fourwheeling. June 4, 2023.

Attempting to use my amateur radio 2m/70cm antenna on one of the only magnetic horizontal surfaces on the vehicle.  I removed this for now due to RFI generated in the engine.

My 2018 Jeep Cherokee had been intermittently displaying "Service Shifter" since I bought it in early-2022.  After being sticker shocked by the dealerships more-than-$500 charge to repair this issue, I searched online for how to fix it myself, and I was fortunately able to do these repairs myself for only $158 in parts.  The next several photos show this repair.
