A weekend trip with the family to the family Lakehouse. We arrived Friday afternoon, and we stayed for approximately 48 hours. It was a very relaxing break from Athens, GA, and we hope to visit here more often in the future - particularly after the sale of the Crystal River, FL condo.
Carol Ann sleeps while we unpack. She is 5½ months old.

We brought an air mattress to mitigate the necessity of washing sheets, but we ended up washing our sheets on the day we departed, so next time we'll probably just use one of the many beds already at the house.

The old dock. I stepped through one of the decking boards. Next time I'll assess the deck before I gallivant to the dock.

For years several aspects of this stereo have bothered me for years, and I am setting out to repair what I can:
-
The speaker cables are too thin.
-
There are multiple burned-out dial lamps on the receiver.
-
One of the tweeters is blown, and not functioning at all.
-
One of the speaker's woofer cone cover has fallen off, and the other is dented in.
-
Both speaker grills missing. This likely has no viable solution.
-
The turntable's automatic mechanism is not functioning correctly.
-
The turntable stylus may need to be replaced to protect the records.
-
The FM antenna is only a small piece of wire. This leaves a lot to be desired.
Despite the crude FM antenna, I could still hear my Athens-based radio station - 44 miles away. That was a surprise.
Listening to music and working on real estate continuing education on the boat dock. While on this vacation I accomplished 6 hours of CE (in less than 6 hours). This completed all of my CE requirements for the next few years.
Haocheng and Carol Ann walked down with me to the dock later in the day.
Later in the day I saw a man in our cove with a dog on a standing kayak.
Then I saw a low-flying airplane.
This Photo from Ron Grant. Ron visited us for dinner on Saturday Night.

On Sunday morning I paired my JBL Charge 3 with the JBL Charge 3 that lives at the lake house. This model can be paired with another identical unit to multiply the sound. This was the first time I was able to attempt this. It sounded great, but there should be a way to configure them as a (L) / (R) Stereo pair. Oh well. One can only wish.
Ron brought a block of home made fudge on Saturday. Haocheng and I consumed the whole block before leaving on Sunday afternoon.
Time to investigate the repair of the blown tweeter. I found this screwdriver in the basement.
Defective Vifa D19TD-05 tweeter in this Paradigm Model 11se speaker. I ordered a replacement on eBay.
While in the basement I noticed water spilling out of the pan at the base of the air conditioner. After a crude repair on the condensate pump's drain hose the problem appeared to be resolved.
The Modular Component Systems (MCS) (From JCPenney) Model 3233 Stereo Receiver. There are four dial lamps. Two were burned out and one of the working ones had fallen into the case. I ordered LED replacement bulbs. These will require soldering and mounting, possibly with glue.
