In the late evening of Thursday, February 17 a strong gust of wind tore the tower bracket off of the house yet again. Fortunately, the concrete base that Chuck poured kept the tower standing despite the complete failure of the side brace.
The next day Joe Silva purchased wall anchors and repaired the problem by anchoring the mast's side bracket in four places in the center of the bricks.
The cause of failure was determined to be installation of the anchors in the mortar - which is brittle and cracks over time due to continuous stress caused by the wind load.
A big thank you to Joe for fixing this problem in record time.
