Jeeping on Sarah's Creek Road and Willis Knob Road in Rabun County.
Sarah's Creek Road is a familiar staple. Willis Knob is a well-maintained forest service road.
Attempting to call N4TS with a temporary mobile setup. We could hear this 2m repeater, but the transmitter could not hear us.
23° incline
A spot on Sarah's Creek Road that I was not able to safely pass. A couple of months ago this spot scared me, but at this point it was more of an annoyance. If I had buddies with me I probably would have tried to navigate it. The front tire can rock climb. It's hilarious and exhilarating.
Drone photos. I frequently think about making photos like this the background of my computer.
My drone and controller.
Haocheng made gyros. We set up at a camp site on the side of Sarah's Creek Road, but quickly decided to relocate before eating after yellow jackets appeared.
The second lunch location. Much better.
An ant found a huge piece of lettuce. I don't know how they do it.
Using the drone to take still photos at our lunch location.
I am in the beginner stages of learning how to take no-joke aerial photography. For what started as my desire to have the drone experience, I wasn't aware of the implications of aerial photography for my shutter-bug hobby.
No videos in this gallery. I am trying to learn a new toy.
I mean, we were just in the mountains. This is the unadulterated vantage from 300 feet above the ground. It's breathtaking, and it's too bad I didn't get into this stuff earlier than I did.
Now, for a complete change of perspective using the traditional DSLR camera.
You can see the Wrangler.
Simply Beautiful
On the way back, Haocheng and I wanted to go to the 2024 Balloon Festival in Athens, but once we saw all of this traffic (which I subsequently photographed with the drone, we decided to go directly home. It was a fun day.
