This vacation to the Crystal River condo was the last time anybody in my family stayed at the condo before its sale later in July 2024. While it was a bittersweet trip, it was enjoyable. I accomplished everything I wanted to do - spending time alone away from home, and visiting friends.
I drove to the condo in the early morning hours of July 4 - Independence Day. That evening Chuck arrived and we watched the fireworks from the back patio. It was a spectacular view. Flying the quadcopter drone showed many boats, and a ton of water cops.
Photographs like these are why I feel great about buying the quadcopter.
Possibly the last time I'll have to look at the obnoxiously bright light across the river.
The flat terrain of Central Florida.
Chuck's and Heather's Television antenna.
The "fingers" of Casa Rio's dock. This dock has been non-functional for as long as I can remember.
Dang.
My work area. at the condo. I brought this table and bench, and I sat at this window while working many times over the years. I will never forget this setup, and the tranquility of the area. This is the paradise INTJ hangout.
Here's a song to encapsulate the sentiment: "In my Room" by The Beach Boys from their 1963 album Surfer Girl.
Stuff
The inflatable mattress that I bought prior to our Crystal River trip several weeks prior.
Food that Haocheng send me with.
Joe told me that his Titan website went live while I was in Crystal River.
Anna Trapani. Chuck and I went to Jim's house in Ocala. Jim was working on having a new FM antenna installed on his home tower.
Heather and Chuck at The Golden Corral in Ocala. The quality of the food was ok. It was definitely a gluttonous "barf-et" trip.
I brought mt VHF HT's. This is Tony's repeater - which is located at Jim's house. I am at in the Golden Corral Parking lot in this photo.
Tony Downes' WRLE-LP Rainbow Lakes Estates home studio (94.9FM) near Dunnellon, Florida.
Tony
Frank's cat, Kenny. Jon Kubiak "Jon Kay" inherited Kenny after Frank's passing. I have not seen Kenny in several years. This brought back a bunch of memories. I went to visit Jon and Kenny after leaving Tony's house.
While I was at Jon's house, he was experiencing some FM transmitter issues on his station, "Wow 104.9" (WDLN-LP Dunnellon). We drove to his transmitter site at the Al's TV building, and I helped Jon carry the transmitter to his car. Fortunately he did have a backup transmitter.
The top PTEK transmitter is the backup. The bottom Nicom NT-1000 is the ailing primary transmitter.
On my final night Chuck and I went to Denny's in Crystal River, and then ate dessert at the Ice Cream Shop above Bird's Underwater.
